Rev. Jimmy Lancaster

Reverend Jimmy Lancaster began his ministry as Interim Pastor in August, 2026. He was born at Pope Air Force Base on May 22, 1963. His dad served his entire career in the Air Force - retiring in the late '80's after 30 years of service to our country. It was during Jimmy's Senior Year (1981) at Lake Braddock in Burke, VA , while on a mission trip in the Northeast - he felt God calling him into the ministry. His family were members at FBC of Springfield, Va. He graduated from Gardner-Webb College in 1985. His first ministry position was as a youth worker at Arlington FBC in the summer of 1982. His 'first full-time ministry position' was at Konnoak Baptist in Winston-Salem (Nov 1984 - May 1988). He served alongside of Dr. Ray Hamilton. He enrolled at Southeastern Theological Seminary in August of 1986. He met Penny - while preaching for a friend at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church and they began dating in September 1989. He graduated from Southeastern in Dec '89 and a few weeks later asked her parents for their blessing, so he could ask her to share in his journey of serving the Lord in ministry as his wife. They were married in May of 1990 at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In Dec '93, Jimmy accepted the call to serve his first pastorate at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Mocksville and was there until December 2003. His second Pastorate was at Maplewood Baptist Church in Yadkinville and served there for 18 years - resigning in July 2022. He was trained to serve as a Transitional Interim sponsored by NC Baptist Convention and served Westfield Baptist Church and Crestwood Baptist Church. In November 2024 - he accepted the opportunity to become the West Regional Director with North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry.

He & Penny have 3 adult children - Jeremy, Patrick & Jessica and are the grandparents to Eva, Joseph, Jamison, Oaklynn & Chett.
Jimmy's desire is to lead and disciple people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, so they become fully devoted and passionate followers of Christ!

Christian Wilson

Christian Wilson is the Minister of Youth and Evangelism here at Fairview Baptist Church. Christian graduated from Carolina University with a Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies. While in college, Christian participated in campus outreach and events. His biggest passion is apologetics and preparing the youth for the future. His goal at Fairview is to make sure the youth grow in Christ and have a solid Biblical Worldview as they go out into the world.

Cheryl Stanley

Cheryl Stanley is the Preschool and Children’s Director at Fairview Baptist Church. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Surry Community College in Dobson, NC. Cheryl worked for 22 years at Dobson First Baptist Church as Playschool Director and 5 years with Surry County Schools as a teaching assistant. She is married to Bobby Stanley and they have 2 children and their spouses, Brett and Hannah Stanley and Megan and Dillon Lewis and 4 grandchildren, Jack, Jude and Wilson Stanley and Millie Lewis.

 

Elizabeth Edwards

Elizabeth Edwards recently joined our staff by serving as the Fairview Worship Leader. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Biology from Appalachian State University. She grew up singing in the church choir, singing in school choirs and performing solos. Her passion is worshiping the Lord with others and praising His name for all to hear. Supporting her in this role is her husband Jake Edwards. 

Kathy White

Kathy White serves as the Director of Technology for Fairview Baptist Church. She graduated from Gardner Webb University with a degree in Business Administration and Appalachian State University with a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology. She is a retired technology educator from Surry County Schools. She is married to Ricky White and they have two sons and daughters-in-law (Jake  & Brooke and Jordan & Emily) and five grandchildren (Emery, Tate, Bailey, Allie and Tinsley).
